Sunshine Coast day on the water

Fishing Season is open and with the weather conditions close to perfect we decided to take part of the day off and spend few hours on the water, and at the same time try and catch fresh fish for dinner. We left the Lighthouse Marina at 10:30 and head out past Poise Island and down toward 4 mile point. With the temp at close to 20c and light breeze we had plenty of time to relax and enjoy the scenery. We were cruising at 7 knots and following the shoreline and what an amazing site it is, we were surrounded by Marine life from Seals to soaring Eagles, a variety of sea birds, and a pod of white sided pacific dolphin that followed us for a while.

It was time to try and catch a fish for dinner, we turn the engines off and dropped a line in the water. We were hoping for nice size red snapper, we were fishing in a depth of 200 to 300 feet and it was not long before we had the first fish in the boat, we drop the line again and 10 min later we had another nice size fish and fishing was done. We turn the engines on again and passed the Salmon inlet and visited one of the Fish farms in the area and then turn around and slowly headed back.

We were back at the Lighthouse Marina by 5pm and then head back home to a lovely dinner of fresh Sea food.  All in all what a day.

Join us and enjoy Life on the beautiful Sunshine Coast of BC
